Grant Review Committee Member
Role:
Be an active participant in the WFUM Grants Program. Review and evaluate the grant applications received and determine the distribution of WFUM Funds in support of these applications – student programs and UMass Amherst projects that support women’s initiatives.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Participate in the virtual review of grant applications 2x a year and as part of the review, assist in the allocation of funds to student programs or events that support women’s initiatives. There are 4 steps to the review process
- Individual review of grant applications and submission materials
- Committee wide review discussion to identify finalists
- Meetings with finalists
- Determination of final awardees and allocations
- Contribute to conversations on how to improve the grant cycle process
- Where possible and applicable, attend grant programs or events to support recipients and spread awareness of the grant program
- Be a positive ambassador of the grants program and help spread the word
Time Commitment:
- Internal (virtual) committee meetings to discuss process of grant cycle
- Individual review time of application materials
- Grant review virtual meetings (2x a year, dependent upon number of finalists)
Responsibilities and Qualifications:
- Attendance at committee meetings virtually
- Participation in grant review process
- Annual donation to WFUM Fund with minimum amount based on UMass graduation year
- Event participation at WFUM and UMass Alumni events as possible
Training and Support:
- WFUM welcome and introduction to the committee and its members
- Grant review training in materials and process/software's
- FERPA training to best understand student privacy protection
