Outreach and Engagement Committee Member
Role:
Work to elevate the profile and impact of Women for UMass Amherst (WFUM) by showcasing and engaging alumnae through programs, events, and other women centric initiatives, providing networking opportunities for students and alumnae, and continuing the cycle of awareness and giving in support of WFUM initiatives.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Provide networking opportunities for students and alumni to engage
- Elevate profile and impact of WFUM by engaging and recruiting alumnae
- Participate in events by serving as event hosts, mentors, and or speakers
- Serve as or recruit general members to act as event hosts, mentors, speakers
- Highlight annual grant recipients and promote when the WFUM Grant Cycle is open
- Continue the cycle of awareness and giving in support of WFUM initiatives
- Help to identify partnerships with other UMass organizations, that provide similar women centric initiatives (events and programs)
- Perform outreach to encourage attendance at WFUM events and post-event outreach to event attendees to strengthen affinity to WFUM
- Contribute to and evaluate new outreach and engagement ideas from members, university partners, or staff and make recommendations or provide feedback on overall alumnae engagement strategy in collaboration with Alumni Engagement team
Time Commitment:
- Approximately 5 hours per year for virtual meetings
- Additional hours based on outreach and engagement involvement and meeting attendance
- Attendance at WFUM events, and other UMAF events where applicable
Responsibilities and Qualifications:
- Attendance at committee meetings as applicable (dependent upon number of events)
- Annual donation to WFUM Fund with minimum amount based on graduation year
- Event participation at WFUM and UMass Amherst events as possible
- Network with individuals of all backgrounds and experiences
Training and Support:
- WFUM welcome and introduction to the committee and its members
- Trainings and materials regarding outreach for new members, event attendees and increased WFUM awareness provided
